Sant Llorenç de Balafia
San Lorenzo (Sant Llorenç de Balàfia). A lovely village 7 km from Sant Joan, in the north part of the island. Like most Ibiza villages, little, quiet, peaceful and authentic. Surrounded by rural landscape and fertile farmlands. Its 18th Century fortified whitewashed church stands out. It was built next to the famous medieval enclave Poblado de Balàfia (Balàfia settlement) a set of five houses with two defense towers, that its residents built to defend themselves from the foreign pirate attacks, very often back then. In the vicinity you’ll also find “Centro de Interpretación de Es Amunts”, that offer its visitors all the information about the fauna and flora of the reserve of Es Amunts.
